2008, the most successful year for Mantis ever

Athens - January 8, 2009

In spite of the economic recession, Mantis managed to achieve new record sales in 2008, thus making it the most successful year for the company ever.

Once again this year (2008), Mantis won most of the new key logistics software projects in Greece, Cyprus, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and other countries in South Eastern Europe, thus further establishing its leading position in the region. Mantis was also very successful, through its Russian partner ANT, in the markets of Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Finally the company won its first projects in Poland, a market which along with the markets of the other countries in Central Europe (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and the Baltic’s) plays an important role in Mantis’ future expansion plans.

Among company’s new customers in 2008 were Delta Sport, Sarantis Polska, Navo PGD, Orfanides, Kaniklidis, Komora-S, Logistics Plus, Datalux, Tirsan, Sertrans, Delamode - Real, TBN, VLC, TLC, Beinoglou Group and Alfa Wood. Also during 2008, Mantis and its partners successfully completed the deployment of Logistics Vision Suite at key customers such as:
  • SLG’s 800,000 sqf. Warehouse Terminal at Europe’s largest manufacturing and logistics park North Domodedovo in the Moscow Region,
  • Eurosib - Terminal Shushary Distriport (container & logistics terminal),
  • Russian Logistics Service’s chain of warehouses in Khabarovsk, Samara, Podolsk, St. Petersburg & Yekaterinburg,
  • Henkel’s warehouse at Engels, Saratov Region - Russia,
  • Vassiliko Cement Works in Cyprus (both Warehouse & Inventory Vision),
  • Aquila’s (Unilever’s 3PL partner) main warehouse in Ploiesti - Romania,
  • Delamode’s real,- (Metro Group Logistics) in Bucharest Romania,
  • MDI in Serbia (distributor of major FMCG brands such as Henkel & Bic),
  • Sertrans & Tirsan in Turkey (important transportation and logistics service providers),
  • Metro’s 400,000 sqf. DC in Greece (one of the leading Greek supermarket and cash & carry chains).

In the marketing front, Mantis and its partners organized more than 40 seminars and participated in 24 exhibitions and conferences in 2008 in all countries of the region.

In the technology front, the company continued to invest in the enhancement of its leading Logistics Vision Suite (LVS) and to extend its range with new products and features. Among the firm’s most important announcements was the launching of a Container Terminal Management System (Container Terminal Vision), a sophisticated information system that manages and optimizes the processes and resources of a container terminal such as the container yard, container handling equipment, trucks and human resources. A new Gate Management System (GMS) also announced that complements and enhances the functionality of CTV, providing a total solution that addresses the needs of a modern container terminal. Both new products will allow companies running container terminals to improve their competitiveness by reducing their operational costs while simultaneously increasing their customer service level. The advantage of Mantis’ solution is that a single platform (LVS) supports all operations of a port &/or train hub (intermodal transport) including, among else, Container Terminal, CFS, General Cargo & Bulk Hub, Car & Ro/Ro Terminal, Industrial & Free Zone Area and 3rd Party Logistics, thus turning a port into a sophisticated multipurpose port and logistics center.

"The fact that in such difficult times the company continues its dynamic growth, is due to our continuous investments in logistics software innovation and in highly skilled professionals who are providing our customers and partners with quality consulting and support services" said Yiannis Panagiotopoulos, CEO of Mantis.
